Vision is one of our most precious senses, yet millions of people worldwide lack access to proper eye care and corrective lenses. True to the core mission of Lions Clubs International, the Aiken Lions Club is deeply dedicated to community sight conservation. We actively collect and recycle used eyeglasses to help individuals see clearly, right here at home and across the globe.
Do you have old pairs of prescription glasses, reading glasses, or sunglasses sitting in a drawer? Don't let them go to waste! Our club collects gently used eyewear in our community drop-off boxes. Collected glasses are cleaned, sorted by prescription strength, and packaged for distribution to people in developing nations who desperately need vision correction.
In addition to our local recycling efforts, the Aiken Lions Club proudly supports Lions Vision Services - https://lionsvisionservices.org/ based in Columbia, South Carolina. This vital organization helps provide financial assistance for eye exams, surgeries, and specialized treatments for individuals and families in South Carolina who cannot otherwise afford essential vision care.
